The top 1% are the most elite people in this world who have risen above all despite the odds and have worked hard to achieve their goals.

They are super rare and exclusive people who have mastery over their self

You might not have such people in your circle but if you do you would know it.

Just think about anyone in your family or circle you admire.

That's what I am aiming for

So not taking much of your time

These are the 13 actions I am gonna embody to reach there and how can you do too:

1. No Cheap dopamine

Cheap dopamine is easily accessible in the form of social media reels scrolling, video games, porn, etc.

It gives you instant gratification and you will keep asking for more until you burn out

Eventually, you start blaming your life choices, but that's just low motivation levels due to the dopamine shortage in your brain.

💡
Get bored, do nothing, and reset your dopamine

2. Meditation

Well, I have tried it all from 10-day meditation camps to courses, videos, and apps.

Nothing seems to benefit me

Then I remember what Naval and surprisingly my yoga teacher said

It's the art of doing nothing

I figured out that just sitting in a calm environment and doing nothing and just observing the world around you works the best for me.

If you never try you'll never know.

💡
Just Close your eyes, sit down, and focus on your breath

3. No Alcohol

I would say everyone should try it at least once but never adopt the habit

I don't drink alcohol unless it's a super important occasion so that's super sorted.

Yes, it's fun and all but stay away from it unless you want that high level of mental control and clarity

💡
Control your environment control your drinking

4. Lifting Weights

This is one of the most recommended things on the internet

I am trying to go the gym daily to get the form right and gradually increase weights as it becomes a habit

You just gotta give it enough time to reap the benefits.

It's not a game of instant gratification

💡
Think of it like a lifestyle instead of a goal

5. Clear Vision

Have a clear vision how what you are working on and why

Have a deeper meaning to what you are doing than a lucrative salary or some shitty short-term perks.

I am in the process of clearing up my vision of working hard on my business and getting some side hustle game on.

💡
Do what makes work not feel like work, or at least do it on the side till it pays

6. Morning Sun

As soon as I wake up I go to my balcony and search for the sun while sipping a glass of fresh water

The morning sun helps in setting up your circadian rhythm

It helps in vitamin D too which most people have a deficiency in.

💡
Try to be out of your house for a major chunk of your day

7. Complete 8-hour Sleep

Whether I sleep at 10 pm or 2 am I get my sleep hours in.

I don't compromise that in any way, I give myself 8 hours in bed doing nothing, whether I sleep for 5

The rest is what is important for the body to function at the optimal levels

What I have realized is fewer sleep results in a lot of fatigue which in turn kills double the amount of time than getting the sleep in

💡
Try Making 8 hours of sleep your no.1 priority for some days, you'll see massive changes

8. No added Sugar

No matter how you’re feeling, donuts can make you feel just that little extra goodness in life. These donuts were celebrating a 21st birthday … but the reality is, you really don’t need to be celebrating anything particular … just celebrate life!

Day by day trying to reduce my sugar intake so that I can be sugar fee asap.

There are already countless amount of researchers and gurus telling the bad things about sugar so it's a must to kill the habit or reduce it at least

What I like about this habit is once you start reducing it, eating sugary stuff feels so good

Just like refraining from anything that gives you a dopamine hit

💡
Start by reducing the sugary content and be conscious of when you crave and satisfy it

9. No Energy Vampires Nearby

I am making a conscious choice of who to keep nearby and who to meet and interact with as I don't want energy vampires sucking my soul and headspace

We as humans thrive best in communities of 150 people who are like-minded and on the same mission as you, so it's important who you keep close

As the 5chimps theory says you are the average of the 5 chimps you hang out with

💡
Stop adhering to people that don't benefit you much, and maintain your peace

10. Making time for family and friends

Family and friends are super important where you can do nothing and still, it's a fun time.

You must have people around you who keep you grounded, are on different paths of life where you share a history, and just enjoy being yourself with

These people of different ages and having differentiating perspectives help you keep sane in the turmoils of life and are a support system in times of trouble.

💡
The no.1 major deathbed regret is not spending more time with F&F, so you better take them out or make that call

11. 4 Hours of deep work

This is a hard one and all the productivity gurus tell you to master this

I have tried it but it's really hard to make it work, and is a constant process

Time is the only limited resource that we humans have so it can be a game-changer in just completing your tasks in a short period with maximum attention.

💡
Start by completing one task at a time with no distractions and full focus and attention and gradually build up

12. Express gratitude daily

This is hands down the most important of them all as it grounds you

It helps you look back on what all already have and most don't.

As everyone has unfair advantages in their lives which they should be grateful for.

So, you must express it daily to be mindful of how far have you come.

💡
Start by writing/thinking/saying 3 thing's you are grateful and they can be as minimal as possible, just start

13. Having a personal board of advisors

Photo by Austin Distel / Unsplash

I have few people who I look up to and who can be of support and help when things go sideways

Not only in work but in life everyone has been through their share of experiences which you may have to go through too, but with proper guidance, it becomes easier.

💡
See who's advice you take when things are difficult in any area and double down on them.

This is not as detailed but this is a good start for anyone who wants to grow fast and reach the echelons of society.

Each of these points can be a separate article to go into detail, so watch out this pace for more.
